Salvation Path-Barahkshetra Dham

Varaha Avatar
Along with natural beauty, Nepal is also very important from a religious point of view. Due to divine compassion, Nepal is also called the land of gods and the land of knowledge. In every region here, from the Himalayas to the open plains, the abode of the gods is found for various
reasons, whether it is due to penance or knowledge, or due to the creation of natural or human civilization. Barakhshetra is a very important place where Hindus have a spiritual faith. It is also the abode of salvation from the sufferings of the whole world.

It is located on the banks of the confluence of the mighty Saptakoshi River and the holy Koka River, which flows at its own pace from the foothills of the Himalayas.

No matter which temple you visit, the first purpose is peace of mind, but each temple has its own character and specialty in terms of religion. Similarly, Barakhshetra also has its own specialty and religious significance.
Important mythological texts such as the Mahabharata, the Baramah Purana, the Skanda Purana, and the Baraha Purana describe this sacred land in detail. Hindus have four main holy shrines, two of which are in Kurukshetra and Dharmakshetra in India, while Muktikshetra and Barakhshetra are in Nepal.

According to religious beliefs, a demon named Hiranyakashyap, with his arrogant spirit of strength and power, drowned the whole world in the sea. And by accepting the humble request of the disturbed, frightened and sad deity, sage, and human world, Lord Bishnu assumed the form of Baraha. It is strongly believed that Lord Vishnu, by taking the incarnation of Varah protected the earth with his long tusk from being submerged into the underworld and sat at the bank of Saptakoshi river and the lap of Himalayas with his wife Goddess Laxmi. The place is called Barakshetra after that event.
There is a beautiful image of the Baraha incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The Baraha incarnation is the third incarnation of the tenth incarnation of Lord Bishnu.

Surprisingly, there is a stone in front of the temple which will examine you have committed a sin or not and is believed that only virtue people can lift the stone.
The main building of the temple was rebuilt in 1991BS. Bhandari Brahmins have been the chief priests of this temple since the fifth generation.
Makar Sankranti is a special festival that is celebrated by people in this place and it is said that whoever take bath on the confluence of Koshi and Koka river and worships the god then they are set free from their sin. While paying homage to one's dead parents on the banks of the river, it is believed that the dead soul will be saved, the family will prosper and the mind will be at peace. Makar Sankranti falls in the month of November every year. Those who are lucky enough to visit this temple will be delighted by observing other divine shrines and beautiful scenery around this area.
Visitors to this temple will be able to travel from Kathmandu by road or even by air. Barahkshetra is about 35km north from Jhumka Bazaar on the East-West Highway or about 10km northwest from the beautiful tourist town of Dharan. For air and Indian travelers, you have to start your journey from Biratnagar city, although Indian travelers can also use other border points depending on the facility.
The base camp of this temple is Chatara. This place hosts the Kumbha Mela once every 12 years, starting from 2058 BS. The second Kumbha Mela was held on 2070BS and has reported more than millions of visitors.

Visiting this temple will be the main attraction for you along with
