Ramdhuni Temple is an ancient temple of the Hindu faith. It is located near a huge forest in the Sunsari district of Nepal. This forest is also called Charkoshe Shrub. This forest is now under Koshitappu Wildlife Reserve. Wild water buffalo, wild boar, and cattle are abundant in this environmentally important area. This place, where many species of birds are found, is a suitable habitat for birds.
There is a legend that in the Tretayuga, a religious tourist site, the revered man Lord Shri Ram used to stay here by lighting a fire during the banbas. It is also believed that Lord Rama, a dignified man, left his footstool during the banbas. There is a legend that the fire started by Shri Ram is still burning. The ashes of the fire that has been burning since time immemorial are considered to be the offerings of the gods.
In the same way, if one visits and worships this temple properly, it is said that happiness, prosperity, peace, and strength will increase.
The wheels of Shri Ram's chariot, Charan Paduka, and Kamandalu Kunda can still be seen there. Sringi sage made this pond from the attack of his Kamandalu, to quench the thirst of Shri Ram.
It is said that a monk named Bankhandi struck a tree with a weapon and made it bear fruit.
